BALI PLUS Magazine January 2016
Hello 2016 and welcome to the year of the Fire Monkey! Let’s start with some fresh and exciting news - we have finally moved to our new office in the hip and happening hippie haven of Canggu, and just in time too as Bali Plus turns 18. It’s been a long way since 1998 when we were first launched as Bali’s pioneer English-language guidebook and since then, we have achieved so much, made so many memories and fostered so many friendships. So as New Years go, let’s remember fond memories and look forward to fresh beginnings - and nothing marks a new beginning better than a luxurious treat as you indulge with your family and loved ones in some of the island’s best and most sought after world-class establishments.
In this issue, we have just the thing to help you get started. Take a look at our Hot Deals page, where you’ll find an exciting array of promotions and offers for the month of January from some of the very best hotels, villas and restaurants. For a fraction of the price, you’ll be able to immerse in a complete experience that comes with an array of gastronomic delights and even wellness rituals. January is off to a good start with these deals that are just too good to miss. Then check out our review pages – with many openings, there are so many new things to experience and enjoy. A must try is the newly opened Malaysian restaurant located at the newly opened Seminyak Village. Tiger Palm is the brainchild of acclaimed Managing Chef, Will Meyrick, a must visit for exceptionally delicious, memorable and incomparable Malaysian food.
In Kuta, perfect for those craving fun, excitement and creativity is the newly opened Berry Glee Hotel. Here, fun and funky is the running theme from its lobby to its themed rooms and even its facilities. Try out its Glee FunPods while you’re there! Those in the iconic Padma Legian area would absolutely love Ossotel Bali with its modern, hip and contemporary façade of glass and steel with a unique and inviting interior. Don’t forget to head to Grand Nikko Bali while you’re in Nusa Dua for a slice of paradise in world-class settings and delicious food. And in Canggu, there’s a hidden paradise; Villa Berawa features actual traditional wooden Javanese houses constructed in the Joglo style, perfect for those tired of the sleek and contemporary. Coming to Bali can also make you look 10 years younger – at Ultimo Aesthetics and Dental Centre, you’ll uncover the secret to a younger and thinner you.
So we hope that this issue has given you everything you need for a great start to 2016. Feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions or inquiries. We’d also love it if you could find and follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Till next month, Om-Swastiastu and welcome to Bali!
