BALI PLUS Magazine March 2017
Welcome to our March issue! March is a great time to visit Bali for the Nyepi celebrations that mark the start of the Hindu New Year. Unlike the boisterous endof- year New Year celebrations, the Balinese Hindu New Year is commemorated with complete silence for 24 hours - the entire island goes into total shut down mode and everyone is prohibited from going outside, making loud noises, travelling and even working. If you’re coming to Bali to experience this globally unique Balinese ceremony, then be sure to catch the Ogoh-Ogoh Parade that takes place on the eve of Nyepi. Also do not miss the entire series of intricate ceremonies before and after Nyepi Day, which you can easily observe while you’re here in Bali. To find out more, visit our Don’t Miss pages for details.
Our other favourite thing about Nyepi is the amazing hotel deals that are available during this time. Visit our Hot Deals pages for 3days/2nights deals at your favourite hotels and villas that would include relaxing stays in some of the best rooms in town, breakfast, lunch and dinner, F&B and Spa discounts as well as free use of the hotel’s amenities. Turn over a few pages and check out everything fresh and new on the island this month with our What’s New section. From new superyachts, cooking classes, new food items to recent openings, there are plenty to catch up on while you’re here. Party people, take a look at our Party Agenda pages before checking out all the winners this month in Bali Best Awards. As usual, our Reviews are personal recommendations, ones that we’ve tried and tested to ensure that you get only the best out of your time here in Bali. This month, Kayumanis Private Villa & Spa introduces Kayumanis Sanur, and for those looking for elegance, luxury and impeccable service in the heart of Kuta, there’s the brand new The Anvaya Resort Bali. Sushi Tei invites you to enjoy world-class dining offerings at its private rooms and bring along the kids for a fun and educational tour programme. Dining at its best is always the case at Bali’s number one classic, Kori Restaurant, Bar & Catering. Just nearby, you’ll find Poppies Cottages for a throwback to nostalgic days gone by equipped with today’s modern day amenities and for those on a safari adventure at the Bali Safari and Marine Park, be sure to indulge in some International and Asian cuisine at the Tsavo Lion Restaurant. Lovebirds looking to have the perfect wedding in paradise, you can never go wrong with Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort. An island with plenty to offer, you can also come to Bali for world-class cosmetic and dental services, look no further than BIMC Bali.
