BALI PLUS Magazine May 2016
Bali’s dry season occurs between May and September, so hooray for infinite blue skies and endlessly warm balmy days in the sun. May is also the start of the busiest time for tourism on the island so if you’re looking to escape the hustle and bustle of South Kuta, why not head out to North West Bali, home to the West Bali National Park and also Menjangan Island where you can find 10 incredible Hindu Temples including a giant-sized Ganesha that was built right on the cliffside, overlooking the sea. Definitely a great option for aspiring photographers and experienced divers who are looking for something more exciting and challenging.
Also happening this month is the Blue Moon phenomenon. According to a more recent definition, a blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. The older definition states that the blue moon is the third full moon in a season that has four full moons. Regardless of which blue moon is happening this month, it is always a good reason to celebrate. Check out our Don’t Miss section for the latest cultural events, festivals and celebrations.
The first ever Dragon Boat Race Festival is also taking place in May, so if you’re going to catch that, don’t forget to take some pictures and tag us on Instagram (Baliplus). As usual we’ve sourced for the island’s hottest deals just for you, and since Mother’s Day is around the corner, you may want to take advantage of these deals to celebrate the Queen of your Heart. More deals are available on our Hot Deals page, and What’s New and Bali Best Awards sections will give you some insights to the latest and the best that the island has to offer.
